It was another Late Night event at the DMA
which I attend monthly and,
as some of you may already know,
I usually bring a new work for my project.
That time it was all about the Pop art movement with music, films,
art-making activities and opening of the newest exhibition “International Pop”.

Location: Balboa Park, San Diego, CA, US

Balboa Park is the largest urban cultural park in the United States, home to 15 museums and gardens. The main reason of my holidays there was sunshine and sugar white beaches though. San Diego has more than 300 days of sunchine per year and more than 70 miles of Pacific Ocean beaches. After 5-day stay, just before leaving for Los Angeles, I decided to visit The Museum of Photographic Arts located in Balboa Park. This picture was taken just before the visit.

Pod tańcem
złotych lamp
fruwają nisko
proste anioły pragnień (…)

Underneath the dance
of the golden lamps
the simple angels of desires
fly low (…)

self-portrait with legs II
(August 21, 2015)
Location: Dallas Museum of Art, TX, US

It was another “crowded” Late Night at the Dallas Museum of Art.
We travelled through the decades of the 20th centuary,
starting in the 1920s and ending in the 1990s, with music,
tours, films and so much more.
Ah, what a journey!

About (à la Vivian Maier) project:
I wish to look at myself in all reflected streets
and places I will be passing by.

weź mnie jeszcze
w dwie ręce
no spraw
żebym uległa ciepłym dreszczem
przeciągnęła się wzdłuż
ziewnęła
wzeszła

take me yet some
into both hands
come make me
yield warm-shuddered
stretching long
yawning
ascending

In the fragrance of the lily of the valley wounds heal II

W zapachu konwalii goją się rany
i otwierają się szczeliny w ziemi
ziejące próżnią bez dna.

In the fragrance of the lily of the valley wounds heal
and the cracks in the earth open
gaping in a bottomless void.

Of what do my feet whisper

Gdy tak leżą bezczynnie
lewa zwrócona ku prawej,
prawa ku lewej,
o czym szepczą moje stopy
w nie kończące się
zimowe wieczory.

Bezwładnie
tak leżące
myślą o ziemi,
ciągle o ziemi.

When they idly lie about,
the left facing the right,
the right facing the left,
of what do my feet whisper
during the neverending
winter evenings.

Inertly
they rest
thinking of earth,
of earth all the time.

self-portrait
(July 6, 2015)
Location: in the middle of nowhere, Oklahoma, US

I planned to spend The Independence Day weekend in Hot Springs, Arkansas
in a very civilized way, and ended up in a cabin in the wilderness of Oklahoma.
Perhaps I haven’t discovered any new museum of art,
concert hall or luxury SPA resort,
but I feel as though I rediscovered my inner child.
