(Eng. A Question Asked into the Void)
translation by Marek Lugowski

co powiesz nam
porzuconym żonom
żółta Nefretete
w łóżku faraonów
gięłaś się posłuszna
władczym uściskom
a gdy odchodził
krokiem głuchym
kładłaś drobne pięści w usta
gryzłaś
złota
co powiesz nam
bezdomnym
odartym z wszystkich pragnień
ty – z pałacu
ty – z tronu
nad smutną kolebką
martwego dziecka
zadumana pochmurnie
co powiesz nam
wiecznie mijającym
wieczna?

what will you tell us
the abandoned wives
O yellow Nefertiti
you in the pharaohs’s bed
you who bent docile
lorded to in embrace
and when he took his leave
with hollow steps
you would put tiny fists to mouth
and bite
O golden one
what will you tell us
the homeless
the ones ripped from all desire
you – in the palace
you – from the throne
over a sad crib
of a stilled child
sullen and gloomy
what will you tell us
us the eternally passing ones
O the eternal?
